Trainer Greg Eurell welcomed Hosting back to his Cranbourne stables this week.

Hosting (5g Host – Kali Smytzer by Zabeel) pulled up lame at Flemington in April and scans showed he had fractured a humerus bone. “He’s very popular with the staff here at Cadet Lodge,” Eurell said. “Hopefully, he’s made a full recovery for a spring campaign.”

A son of Swettenham Stud sire Host (Chi), he earned black-type placings as an autumn three year-old in the LR Manfred Stakes and G3 C S Hayes Stakes. Resuming last season, he won at Sandown and Rosehill but was denied a hat-trick when blocked for a run in the G2 Shannon Stakes at Rosehill.

Hosting (pictured) was one of 36 individual winners by Host in 2013-14 and they won a total of 67 races for over $1.40 million in Australia. Host will stand for an $8,800 (inc gst) service fee in 2014.
