Jimmy's Girl (Ire) displayed all the speed that’s becoming a trademark of the Equiano breed at Lingfield on Friday.
The Richard Hannon trained youngster jumped straight to the lead in the Greyhound Fillies Stakes (1200m) and never gave her rivals a look-in. She sprinted to a 8 length lead at the top of the straight and was still over a length in front on the line.
Jimmy´s Girl (2f Equiano - Scottish Exile by Ashkalani) started a $4 equal favourite after previous placings at Bath. She is raced by Will Mellor and Kevin McMullen and is a half-sister to Bonnie Charlie (Intikhab) who was Group 3 placed in England France.
Jimmy´s Girl was one of the cheapest Equiano yearlings at the 2013 Doncaster Bloodstock yearling sale when changing hands for 11,000 pounds.
Equiano (Fr) has 18 lots catalogued for this year’s Doncaster Sale starting on August 26. Among them is a full sister to Equiano colt Lightning Stride (Lot 379) who won at Leicester in May.
Swettenham Stud will stand Equiano for a $16,500 (plus gst) service fee this year.
