Swettenham Stud reiterated its commitment to the Victorian breeding industry when they sold a large draft of high quality yearlings at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale this week.

Speaking with Swettenham principle Adam Sangster “We really do concentrate all our efforts to Inglis Premier.”

"We make this our number one sale and it certainly pays off.”

"From arranging the stud visits, the effort from all staff involved, the commitment from buyers and breeders – everyone makes this their priority.”

"It’s a one stop sales shop where clients and friends can come and see us, enjoy the hospitality, plan their next mating or arrange to come out and see their mare and foal at the farm.”

With a busy 10 days out at Oaklands, you are always made to feel welcome at the Swettenham Stud tent.

A popular destination for buyers at the complex, made even sweeter by the delicious cold ice cream on offer.

With a gold coin donation being collected for the Anthony Jones Education Fund, all of the industry were more than happy to contribute.

The quality of Swettenham Stud yearlings on offer was confirmed by the best buyers in the business making sure they took one home.

Standout results included:

  • Lot 63 the popular grey filly by I Am Invincible from Members Joy, a $320,000 purchased by Paul Moroney Bloodstock.

Their top lot was the Members Joy filly, at $320, 000. The second session saw 17 lots on offer with 15 sold with the sale high of $65,00 and a median of $37,000.

Professional in everyway, the Swettenham Stud team looked terribly smart, and turned out each yearling immaculately.

I’m sure there are some sore feet today, but everyone worked tirelessly they are all to be congratulated on a tremendous sale.
