Master Of Design was certainly getting things off to a flying start at Bairnsdale on Saturday when two of his promising up and coming gallopers broke their maidens by taking out the first two races at Bairnsdale.

First up was the three-year-old filly Coral Rose, from the mare Ramiel in the Coopers Hire Drive Maiden Plate over 1200m for trainer and co-owner Mario Farrugia.

Farrugia liked the filly from the start purchasing her at the 2015 Inglis VOBIS Gold sale for $18,000 from Three Bridges Thoroughbreds.

“She just needed the right race to break her maiden and now she will improve. She will have a spell and as she matures she will get better and better.”

Next to salute was the gelding Ingels, from the Dash For Cash mare, Miracle Magic winning well on debut. Trained at Cranbourne by Allan & Jason Williams, the three year old won in convincing style over 1000m.

“A progressive horse, straight forward, he has a lot of upside. He was well placed and was dominant.” Jason Williams said.

Owned by Price Bloodstock Management, Ingels was sold by Attunga Stud at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $45,000.

Selected by good judge John Foote who also purchased Silent Witness on behalf of Price Bloodstock, they will no doubt find a home abroad for Ingels, hopefully racing in Hong Kong.

With Property winning in the the same colours at Randwick, Jason joked, “I was under pressure to do the same.”

“I am lucky to have the support of David and Jenny and hope the win is the first step to more success for Ingels ahead.”
