Trust In A Gust received a significant update in his maternal pedigree in the Northern Hemisphere when Thunder Snow claimed his second Group I success overnight with a bold front running win in the Group I Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly.

Sent straight to the front by jockey Christophe Soumillon, Thunder Snow dictated the pace throughout the one-mile contest and once asked to quicken two furlongs from home, was never troubled and eased clear to win by just over a length from the improving Trais Fluors with Redoute's Choice colt Gold Luck in third place.

A tough and consistent campaigner, Thunder Snow won on debut at Leicester last May and was placed at Group II level twice before winning the Criterium International by no fewer than five lengths. He returned this year with a wide-margin victory in the UAE 2,000 Guineas, following up in the UAE Derby. He was last seen finishing just a length and a quarter behind Barney Roy in the Group I St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last month after chasing home Churchill for second in the Group I Irish Two Thousand Guineas.

Thunder Snow is a close relation to Swettenham stallion, Trust In A Gust through his dam Subtle Breeze. Known to be quite the character herself, she is a half-sister to Thunder Snow’s grand-dam, Red Slippers by Nureyev.

Subtle Breeze is from the family that produced Champion European Three-Year-Old Filly Balanchine, winner of the Group 1 Irish Derby and the Group 1 English Oaks, while Red Slippers produced French Group 1 winner West Wind along with Eastern Joy, Thunder Snow’s dam.

Trust In A Gust boasts outstanding bloodlines on both side of his pedigree with his sire, Swettenham’s past resident stallion, Keep The Faith, a son of Japan’s immortal Kentucky Derby winning sire, Sunday Silence.

This young stallion offers the Victorian breeding industry an impeccable pedigree that has outstanding northern hemisphere performers, including Thunder Snow in his black type producing family.

Trust In A Gust is standing this year for $11,000 inc GST
